Visuetries.

"Poetry has always been a special art form for me. Perhaps because, like painting, it draws images. But not on canvas, rather in the imagination of people. Granted, people often don't realise the existence of these pictures in their minds.

I wanted to talk about them. I began to draw images that emerged in my own imagination under the influence of various words. Thus, in 2010, the first paintings of the series, which I named "Visuetries," came to life.

I looked at the paintings and saw that they turned out to be very figurative. I liked how little was depicted on them and how much meaning was present. Just like in poetry. These paintings will help people reflect on the images that words create in their own imagination and see in themselves what they had never noticed before."—Ilya Yod.
